I honestly dont remember why I started taking photos. At about 2009, I thought it was time to buy a DSLR. It seemed to be an IN thing to do. Every one seemed to own one and I wanted also to be an accomplished photographer.
Off to Best Buy , and 1 hour later came back home with a brand spanking new Canon Rebel XS with a 18-55 Kit lens. I think for the first year I shot on what we call the Program mode or P on the canon and felt like I was amazing! :-). I would often look at the settings the P mode would take pics on based on lighting and time of day and then switch to Manual mode or M and figure out how much I did not know when it came to photography.
2 years down the road, I really started playing around with Manual modes more often. I also figured out the golden rule thanks to my wife's mentoring: You need to take 100's of pics to get THE PIC you want. It rarely ever happens that the first shot is the only shot that you take and it is spot on. Atleast not when you are learning photography.
So hence started my style of shooting in burst mode with 6-8 pics in quick succession and picking one as the best of the lot. I ended up with a TON of bad pics and a handful of good ones. This was primarily due to the fact that I was beginning to understand motion photography.
